We’re always looking for ways to raise the bar at Elite Academy of Cosmetology. Samantha Harman, one of our educators at the school, has recently been taking that attitude to heart with her Instagram profile! Her Instagram has recently passed over 10,000 followers, and she has been making an effort to consistently post to keep the followers rolling in. It’s exciting to watch the channel grow so quickly!
Instagram Contest Winner
Sam’s follower count started shooting up in the past couple weeks, and there are a few things she is doing to make it happen. The event that really kicked everything off was when Sam won a contest on Instagram where the prize was a trip out to California. She got to shadow Justin Anderson for a day, a celebrity hairstylist who specializes in hair color and has worked with high-profile people like Jennifer Aniston and Miley Cyrus. The next day it was time for Sam to be pampered by the talented artist! Justin Anderson styled Sam’s hair alongside Ashley Iaconetti from The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise. The whole experience was paid for as part of the prize for winning the Instagram contest, and the whole thing felt surreal!
Check out Justin Anderson’s Instagram profile to see the amazing work he does! Justin is also a part owner of a product line named dpHUE which is sold in Sephora and Ulta. Visit the dpHUE Instagram page to learn more about it!
Growing Instagram
Sam’s trip to California definitely helped to get the ball rolling on her Instagram, and she has continued to put in diligent effort to keep the momentum going. She has worked hard to be consistent with her posting schedule, and has refined the art of using hashtags and emojis to great effect. She even has sponsors, such as Truss and Fanola, that are sending her products to test and feature, which is helping to grow her following even more! She incorporates educational elements to her posts too, which is also a big part of her success. It’s so exciting to see!
Keep up with all of the latest work from Sam on her Instagram!
Bringing Success to School
One of the things that Sam loves about her newfound success is that she can share her tips and strategies with her students at the school. She enjoys showing students that hard work can pay off, even if you’re from a small town in Oklahoma. Sam has the exciting opportunity of sharing her success with students and showing them how to make it happen for themselves. She also gets to continue teaching people through her Instagram! Her talent for teaching has really started to shine in recent weeks, and we’re excited to see where it will go next!
Words of Advice
Sam’s recent success on Instagram has taught her several things that she wants students at Elite Academy of Cosmetology to know:
“One of my favorite things about this industry is that there is always something to learn. That’s what really keeps me excited. Education is such a passion of mine and I want to create a community on my social media instead of only doing hair posts. I love that Instagram allows me reach people all throughout the world.”
She wants her students to know that they can find success for themselves. Many people think that cosmetology education is just to teach people to cut and style hair, but there are so many things you can do with that skill set. Your potential is only limited by your imagination!
